Love the tutorials! Definitely will go on the blog for visitors from Women's Work (http://wwork.com). I've been using Audacity for awhile now and would love to hear from you what filter to use to make a professionally sounding podcast. What I usually do is Reduce Noise, Normalize and Compress. Also, I'll use the Remove Clicks filter. And for those p's and s's that get through I do a Hard Limiter. It is a lot of trial and error though...Would love to hear what you recommend.

Thanks Sheryl, I think you're my greatest fan! :)

Absolutely, Doug, and that link shows it really simply so I will add that to the next tutorial post since it explains it better than I can. Thank you.

Thanks for putting together such a great tutorial on Audacity. One other important thing to check for low volume is the microphone boost on your sound card settings. It's not actually an Audacity setting at all. This page linked below shows where that sneaky check box is hidden on Windows XP, and I suspect that there are similar settings in Windows Vista.

http://agnradmin.umd.edu/iet/IETServices/Centra%20Webconferencing/Admin%20Page1.cfm

Of course, you can always Google "microphone boost."

Great job Lisa!
I am at a total loss when it comes to things like this. I would guess it's because I never think I have much to say (well, of much importance). I do think my day is coming! ;)

Having someone walk through how to set up and use tools like this makes me feel allot better than if I just jumped in and tried them on my own.

Thanks for taking the time to help us all out!

As for your 'ugly mug', I always think you look so cute and happy!

Have a super day,
Sheryl

You rock!
