Someone mentioned to me once or twice that Internet video marketing not only worked but that it worked REALLY well (you know who you are Ed Dale). I didn’t doubt it but you know how it is… I certainly have no desire to film myself talking to camera (a fear I may now have to overcome) and then there is the time it takes to create the video (which is actually no time at all – it’s certainly a lot less than it takes to write a blog post).

At the beginning of October I started making some screen capture videos about using Audacity. They were simply basic tutorials on how to use Audacity to record your voice and add music. Using just a few of the tips I learned from Jason Moffatt’s Easy Video Sales, I added these videos to YouTube and to this blog.

I have to say I am amazed at the results:

The Audacity tutorials are by far my most viewed pages on the blog (although that isn’t a complete surprise since they are my only posts – except two – since 1st October)

More importantly, 25% of unique page views are to one of those video pages

20% of my traffic is coming from YouTube

People are spending longer and viewing more pages on my site

Additionally, 12,223 people have watched my Audacity YouTube videos (according to their stats).

It isn’t enough to just put your videos out there and hope people see them. Like anything online you need to pick the best keywords, do some promotion, and if you want viewers to do something in particular after watching your videos (instead of moving onto someone else’s video) there has to be a strong call to action and/or motivation for them to click away from YouTube.

Easy Video Sales has certainly helped me to build a nice chunk of traffic to my videos, and I plan on taking more of Jason’s advice to boost that traffic (including getting the videos out there on more than just YouTube). Oh, and maybe I should consider how I’m going to monetize these babies! One thing’s for sure, I should have listened to Ed Dale a long time ago when he raved about video – he does know a thing or two about Internet Marketing

And, you’ll be glad to know, there are more Audacity videos on the way.

A little break in the Audacity videos for a different video (I know, I’m becoming a dab hand at this video stuff). Ages ago I won Jason Moffatt’s Easy Video Sales and promised to give my review. Now that my voice is coming back to full strength I have been able to make a video giving a sneak peek inside Easy Video Sales.

Jason just keeps piling on the value with this package, which essentially is a guide to Internet video marketing. The main focus is on how to get more traffic to your videos by using certain optimization tips and hijacking other people’s video traffic, but there is so much more in the members’ area: how to get started with creating videos, videos/interviews with marketers such as Frank Kern, Harlan Kilstein and Jeff Walker, free extra training and resources (including Jason James’ Audio Video Riches), and access to a mastermind/forum area.

There’s loads to take in – too much for one video – but I’ve tried to include the highlights:

You can get access to Jason’s free video from his Mass Control presentation by clicking here: http://www.hijackvideos.com.

Within the video (and on YouTube) I’ve used some of Jason’s tips – if you spot them, feel free to use them Obviously, I didn’t manage to stick to his tips on video length (which is to keep them short). I’ve never been good at keeping things brief!
